“Nobody says anything about that”
I’ve reblogged this about 40 times. But let me do it again.
His autopsy reports did show that his skin colour was changed by the condition, not artificially.
I love Michael Jackson. Judge all you want.
Other than the obvious ignorance of his condition that people have, I hate this attitude that people get about PoC who do lighten their skin. Instead of being upset that people don’t feel beautiful in their natural skin tone thanks to pervasive ideas about beauty and whiteness, white people instead get mad that he may have had the audacity to try to look white. Like, how dare he try to look white? It’s the same issue when PoC dye their hair blond or red or any other color generally ascribed to white people. How many times have you heard someone say “black people shouldn’t bleach their hair”? Where’s the indignation when white people emulate and appropriate a “look” from PoC? When we exoticize brown skin and “ethnic” styles? It doesn’t matter if he DID bleach his skin or not. The fact of the matter is that when you’re white, you have the autonomy to change your skin and hair however you want without anyone judging you, or making you feel like a traitor to your race. But if you’re a PoC, anything you do that isn’t ascribed to your race will be held against you by indignant white folk who want to put you and your body in a box. Just fucking mind your own damn business and stop politicizing people’s bodies.

DOES ANYONE ELSE REMEBER HOW DARK THIS MOVIE ACTUALLY WAS.
filed under: childrens movies that shouldn’t have been childrens movies
So I was on the train today and these two black guys were having a conversation not even that loud and said “nigga” like once when this white lady turns around and says “How do you think MLK Jr. would feel about you using that kind of language” and one of the guys snaps back and said “Idk maybe if your people didn’t shoot him I would know”
I hate it when you are having a bad day and everyone takes it personally, like no i hate myself, not you. get the fuck over yourself.
Members of Congress are living off food stamps for a week to protest Republican cuts. It’s a challenge for them, but GOP cuts would hurt millions of everyday Americans.
Why does this not have more publicity. This needs it!
Signal boosting this A) because it deserves to be seen by more people, and b) because I appreciate some members of Congress are actually willing to see what it’s like living on food stamps in order to make their point about how horrifying cutting food stamps would be.
News flash, regressives: people on food stamps do not load up on Snickers bars and filet mignon. They’re limited in what they can buy, and oftentimes, it’s not enough to get by on. Go on thinking these are entitlements that let minorities live lives of luxury, comfortable in the knowledge that you’ll never go hungry.
You privileged, elitist pricks.

someone made a really good point in the commentary of a post once which basically boiled down to the fact that james and lily’s patronuses are complements of each other (stag / doe) as opposed to snape and lily’s (doe / doe) which just goes to show how love and obsession are not the same thing at all thank u for ur time
Realistic Erotica: “Please don’t stop,” she moaned just as my fucking hand started to really cramp.

A little extra for your Thursday, Racializens.
[context: this is a parody response to the vitriolic racist backlash a super cute cheerios advert received for daring to portray an interracial family]
i love how men mock women for being overemotional and then lose their shit over a team losing an over-glorified game of fetch
Because all men like watching sports, obviously, right? You just did what you hate men doing, putting generalizations on a whole gender.
i know i did
irritating, isn’t it?
This is perfect. There are plenty of times where I’m sad for whatever reason and people try to cheer me up. That’s fine, but sometimes I need to let all my emotions out and just be sad. It’s frustrating to have people imply something’s wrong with you just because you’re sad.

Can someone tell me why they say America is a free country when we pay the most taxes, gays have to jump through hoops to have children and get married, and the amount of homeless youth is outstanding. So whenever someone tells me America is the best because we’re free, I’ll remind them how I’m a homeless gay teenager that only gets half a paycheck because the government “needs” my money.
